Chelsea youngster scores huge goal vs Tottenham just five days after joining the club

Chelsea have continued to add talent to their academy sides since the transfer window closed, and one has made an immediate impact against arch-rivals Tottenham.

The young Blues have starred throughout this campaign so far, with Shumaira Mheuku leaving the first team on notice with an electric start.

The striker has 17 goals for club and country already this season, and Enzo Maresca will surely be taking note of his performances as he continues to search for the right answer up front for Chelsea.

As he looks towards a future at Stamford Bridge, new addition up front Jashayde Greenwood will have been looking to make his mark after joining the club from Wolves.

Jashayde Greenwood scores vs Tottenham five days after joining Chelsea

The youngster has only recently turned 16, however is being handed the chance to make his mark for the Under 18s for his new side.

His first game came up against rivals Spurs, and the young Blues were staring down the barrel of a defeat before Greenwood stepped up with his first goal for his new club.

His equaliser made the game 2-2, the scoreline it would end up finishing, capping off a perfect individual start to his Chelsea career.

The England U16 international only joined the club on Tuesday, meaning it has taken just five days for him to find the net for his new side.

Greenwood could take part in historic tournament

It is an exciting time for the youngsters at Chelsea, with them set to take part in a historic competition in December.

Lionel Messi has invited the academies of a number of clubs around the world to take part in an U16s tournament named after him, with the Blues being one of those sides.

Greenwood could feature for Chelsea in the Messi Cup, giving him a chance to showcase his talents up against the best young players in world football.

For now though, he will continue to look to make his mark for the Under 18s, with a chance in the Under 21s likely up for grabs soon if Mheuka receives his well-deserved call up.
