Fans react to Cardinals’ QB move before Week 7 against Packers

Once again, the Arizona Cardinals will go with Jacoby Brissett as their starter under center, as they face off against the Green Bay Packers this Sunday at State Farm Stadium.

With Kyler Murray still on the shelf with a foot injury, the Cards are reportedly expected to have Brissett start at the quarterback position versus Jordan Love and company.

Via Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network:

The #AZCardinals are once again planning to start QB Jacoby Brissett, while QB Kyler Murray (mid-foot sprain) heals, per The Insiders.

Murray is questionable, but spent time in practice open to the media throwing to practice squad receivers while Brissett was with the starters.

In Week 6, Brissett passed for 320 yards and two touchdowns with an interception on 27-of-45 pass completions in a 31-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on the road.

Fans sound off on Cardinals’ QB move for Week 7 game against Packers

Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Deforest Buckner (99) pressures Brissett (7) on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Arizona enters Week 7 still searching for answers to their slump. They are on a four-game losing skid after starting the 2025 season with back-to-back wins.

Rapoport’s report has drawn plenty of reactions from fans, with many believing it’s a move for the better for Arizona.

“At this point, the Cardinals are just flipping a coin between QBs,” said a fan on X.

Another one said: “He going to torch our defense tm and it’s going to be hilarious”

From a commenter: “Good call. Better to let Kyler heal fully than risk aggravating an injury in a midseason matchup.”

“Great to see Brissett stepping up again for the Cardinals with Kyler out. Wishing Murray a speedy recovery! Hope the team can turn things around against the Packers,” a social media user posted.

Via adifferent commenter: “Brissett played well last week and we talked about it on the podcast. But I’m always going to prefer the non-mobile journeyman QB over Kyler so this is a win for GB”

Wonderedanother: “Could this be the game where the #Packers defense starts to generate turnovers?”

Unlike the Cards, Green Bay has zero issues under center, with Jordan Love firmly entrenched as the team’s top quarterback. Green Bay is 3-1-1 after five games and is coming off a 27-18 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6.

Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love (10) thows downfield during the second quarter of their game against the Cardinals Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
