Rio Ave defender Jonathan Panzo has insisted he sees nothing but positives from his time at Nottingham Forest.
[A Bola have an interview](https://www.abola.pt/?srsltid=AfmBOopnqweX-96fbtzvqZkdyKJHnTyNiIlTzxnCkMHw8ACgHBxEaWYv) with the 24-year-old today in which Nottingham Forest are a topic of conversation after he left them in the summer.
Panzo had been with them since 2022 after joining in a €1.7m deal from Dijon. He never established himself there, though, making just one appearance in the first team totalling 65 minutes over three years.
He spent most of his time at the club out on loan, enjoying spells with Coventry, Cardiff, Standard Liege and Rio Ave. The Portuguese side then signed him on a free transfer this summer.
He doesn’t have anything bad to say about the experience, though, and instead only sees positives.
“It was a great experience playing with some of the best players in the Premier League. Being able to see what they do up close and learn from them is great,” he said.
His time at Coventry City in 2022 saw him playing alongside Viktor Gyokeres, who at that time was still establishing himself in the Championship.
The year before he managed 18 goals in 47 games and improved on that the following years, with 22 goals in 50 games in all competitions. That summer he joined Sporting Club de Portugal and hasn’t looked back since.
He scored 97 goals in 102 games for the club before Arsenal signed him this summer in a €65.8m deal. His time in Portugal was nothing short of explosive, and Panzo insists he saw it coming from the new Arsenal man.
“Yes, personally, I did. He always had the quality to reach this level,” he added.
“Maybe he needed a bigger platform, and he achieved that here in Portugal. And now you’re where you deserve to be. I congratulate you, and I hope you stay at the top.”
