The two highest-profile members of the West Ham board — David Sullivan and Karren Brady — have come in for something of a tongue-lashing from former Hammer Don Hutchinson.
Hutchinson is never one to hold back on social media, and with the Hammers sitting at the foot of the Premier League, he’s now called time on the Irons hierarchy.
“Sullivan & Brady are focused on making money more than they’re focused on doing what’s best for West Ham.
They will not build the fans a home. I think it’s time they sell up.”
Brady has been asked to leave West Ham
Fan Boycott Adds to Mounting Pressure
A planned protest is expected before the game against Brentford tomorrow, with a boycott likely to leave Sky Sports’ cameras broadcasting rows of empty seats.
With West Ham now on their third manager of 2025 and sitting second from bottom, there is immense pressure on the club’s leadership. A trusted source recently told Claret & Hugh: “West Ham’s problems all stem from poor recruitment — it’s been diabolical.”
Indeed, whilst there are legitimate complaints about the stadium and constant talk of financial limitations, it’s the club’s muddled transfer strategy that has done the most damage. Directors of football, managers, agents, department heads — and Sullivan himself — have all had a say in assembling what’s become a mish-mash squad.
Hutchinson isn’t wrong to highlight the stadium issue either. The London Stadium simply isn’t a football ground, and no amount of claret paint can disguise that fact.
But perhaps the biggest issue of all is that West Ham don’t have a squad suited to any manager, and that, right now, is the real crisis.
