“I’m Out There”: CeeDee Lamb Reveals Truth About His Injury Status

CeeDee Lamb’s return to the Dallas Cowboys lineup is drawing plenty of attention, but his recovery story carries more depth than a simple “I’m back.” After missing three games with a high ankle sprain, Lamb insists he’s ready to roll, and by all accounts, he’s close to full strength.

The injury occurred in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears, forcing Lamb to the sideline for the first extended stretch of his career. Team doctors originally expected a three-to-four-week absence, though high ankle sprains can easily linger beyond that window. Dallas has kept him off injured reserve, signaling confidence that the team’s top wideout could return sooner rather than later.

Throughout the past week, Lamb has eased back into practice. He was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday and Thursday before ramping up activity Friday. Reporters at the team facility noted he looked comfortable running routes and cutting on the previously injured ankle. Lamb described himself as “out there moving around, running around, being me,” an indication he’s feeling more like his old self.

Coaches also appeared encouraged, clearing him to play in Week 7 barring any setbacks. Team sources said Lamb could have suited up last weekend, but Dallas opted for caution, giving him another week to strengthen the ankle and avoid aggravation. That move fits the team’s longer-term approach to managing star players through the grind of a 17-game season.

After being out for several weeks, Lamb has shared whether he’s ready to play again or not. This can be seen in a post shared by Jon Machota on X.

CeeDee Lamb said he could’ve played against the Panthers last week but they wanted to give him extra time to get all the way healthy. “I’m out there moving around, running around, being me. Happy as can be.”

Lamb’s absence exposed how much the Cowboys offense leans on his explosiveness and ability to stretch defenses. Quarterback Dak Prescott has struggled to find consistent rhythm without his No. 1 target, and Lamb’s return should help balance the passing attack and open opportunities for other receivers.

As Dallas prepares for its Week 7 matchup, the focus shifts from Lamb’s status to his impact. If his ankle holds up and he quickly regains timing, his comeback could be the spark the Cowboys need to reestablish themselves among NFC contenders.
