Roberto Mancini is believed to be one of the front-runners for the Nottingham Forest job – and the Premier League-winning manager is open to returning to England.
Forest sacked Ange Postecoglou on Saturday, less than 20 minutes after the defeat to Chelsea, and are on the lookout for their third manager of the season.
Sean Dyche and Mancini are the leading contenders for the job but Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is an admirer of Fulham boss Marco Silva too.
Mancini won Manchester City’s maiden Premier League title in 2011/12 and also won an FA Cup during his four-year spell at The Etihad.
After leaving City in 2013, Mancini went on to manage Galatasaray, Inter Milan and Zenit Saint Petersburg before trying his hand at international management.
Mancini spent five years in charge of the Italian national team and led his country to Euro 2020 glory at England’s expense. He also enjoyed a brief spell in charge of Saudi Arabia before leaving in October 2024.
The 60-year-old is eager to return to coaching and would welcome the opportunity to manage in England.
Asked whether he’d want to manage in the Premier League again, Mancini told Transfermarkt: “Anytime. Every league is special. I really enjoyed the Premier League and the years I spent in the UK. Every coach dreams of coaching in the Premier League.

"Apart from that, I really appreciate the experience I've gained in Turkey, Russia and Saudi Arabia. In today's football, you have to gain experience with different cultures, traditions and mentalities and combine everything you've learned from all these countries to get along with the different nationalities in the locker room.”
