TBR Football understands that Barcelona scouts were in attendance to watch Marseille forward Mason Greenwood in their 6-2 win over Le Havre on Saturday, with the former Manchester United talent scoring four goals.
Barcelona have already added Marcus Rashford to their ranks in the summer, after his loan move from Manchester United was confirmed thanks to a lack of game time at Old Trafford.
However, with Rashford only on loan at the Camp Nou until the end of the season, Barcelona chiefs are looking at bringing in striker options for next summer including making his deal permanent.

With that in mind, Mason Greenwood has impressed since moving to Marseille last summer, scoring 29 goals in 46 games in all competitions for the Stade Velodrome outfit, and that has seen one of Europe’s powerhouses come into the fold for his signature.

Exclusive: Barcelona scouts watched Mason Greenwood score four goals for Marseille
TBR Football understands that Barcelona scouts were in the South of France on Saturday evening to see Mason Greenwood in action.
Hansi Flick’s side are in the market for another forward for the summer of 2026, and they are believed to have Atletico Madrid’s former Manchester City star Julian Alvarez high on their list of options.
Greenwood is a player that Barca have followed since his loan stint at fellow La Liga side Getafe, and they considered conducting a deal before he moved to Marseille last year.
Now with a move for Marcus Rashford almost certain to happen, the two former Manchester United players could be reunited in Catalonia.
Barcelona are continuing to watch Greenwood on a regular basis, and have seen him more than once this term. We now understand they were at the Stade Velodrome, and they saw the 24-year-old turn in a spectacular display as he helped himself to four goals in Marseille’s 6-2 win over Le Havre.
Greenwood is now the second-top scorer in Ligue 1 behind Strasbourg star Joaquin Panichelli, as well as being the top assist maker in the division.
Greenwood would become just the third English player to feature for Barcelona after former teammate Rashford and Three Lions legend Gary Lineker if he were to join next summer.

Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood could rekindle Man United form at Barcelona
Of course, the typical comparison to make would be between Mason Greenwood and Rashford, who both featured alongside each other at Manchester United.
The duo spent two-and-a-half seasons alongside each other at Old Trafford, where Greenwood scored 35 goals in 129 games for the club before he stopped playing in January 2022.

Rashford produced some of his best form in Greenwood’s early days as a United attacker, and having excelled at Barcelona since he pushed for a move, the partnership’s return could be on the cards.
The England star has three goals in 10 games for the La Liga giants, including Rashford’s deadly double vs Newcastle in the Champions League.
If they do sign him on a permanent deal, as well as Greenwood, the duo would be battling for minutes with Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo, though it would add goals and directness to Hansi Flick’s side.
