Niall Horan has returned to Anfield to watch Liverpool take on Manchester United – just over a year after going into business with Fenway Sports Group. The Reds are looking to get their season back on track after suffering three consecutive defeats before the international break.
And Arne Slot’s side will be cheered on by the former member of One Direction, who is returning to Anfield for the first time since the Reds thrashed United 7-0 in March 2023. “This is alright, isn’t it? Wow! The last time I was here it was 7-0,” he said in a clip posted on Liverpool’s X page.
But when asked for a prediction, Horan replied: “I don’t want to say anything. I refuse to speak.”
Horan teamed up with FSG last year when the group purchased a franchise in the Technology Golf League, which is spearheaded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
The franchise is named Boston Common Golf and on the deal, the 32-year-old said: “Golf has been a lifelong passion of mine and I’m thrilled to be part of this exciting new venture alongside my investment group, Greenbridge Ventures, in partnership with Fenway Sports Group and Rory, who has been a long-time friend.
“I can’t wait to experience team golf in this unique format that merges technology with green grass play.
“Being able to combine my love for the game and my friendship with Rory into a relationship that helps launch a new concept in golf is truly special.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity and I think this new league backed by both Tiger Woods and Rory and team will bring a fresh perspective to the sport I adore.”

Speaking ahead of this afternoon’s game, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher said: "We’re at the stage now where Liverpool don’t just have to win. But show us why you’re champions.
"They’re the best team in the league last season, spent a whole load of money, this is the perfect opportunity to forget what happened in the last three games."
Before he added: "I think the results we’ve seen Liverpool have in the last week, at times you can say they were unlucky – they lost three games of those by one goal with two of them in the last minute.
“But it does feel with those results and the one in the Community Shield, that those results have been coming.
"And I think there’s been a lingering worry for Liverpool supporters, watching them this season, that those results were round the corner.
“You have to take into account what the club and those players have been through with the tragic passing of Diogo Jota, one of their mates. Of course that will take its toll, we have to remember that."
