Newcastle United Women fightback to draw 3-3 with Man City in the Subway Women’s League Cup group stage.
Group A
Everton 1-1 Nottingham Forest (Everton won shoot-out 4-3)
Newcastle United 3-3 Manchester City (Man City won shoot-out 7-6)
Lois Joel fired Newcastle into a shock lead from 25 yards out, Laura Coombs swept in the equaliser right before half-time after Imam Beney took the ball into the box. Two minutes after the restart Beney claimed a second assist, with Yui Hasegawa lashing the ball home from the corner of the six-yard box. Hasegawa’s corner kick led to City’s third goal, Gracie Prior with the last touch after keeper Claudia Moan punched the ball toward her own net. Freya Gregory brought it back to 3-2 with a strike off the far post, while Emily Murphy dramatically equalized from outside the box in stoppage time. City bagged the bonus point from the shoot-out, after Khiara Keating saved from Demi Stokes and Laura Blindkilde-Brown converted.
Everton v Nottingham Forest - Subway Women's League Cup

Aimee Claypole’s penalty put Nottingham Forest ahead before the hour mark, threatening a surprise but Everton equalised through Kelly Gago just three minutes later. The hosts were taken to a shoot-out by Forest, but two saves from Emily Ramsey secured Everton the extra point.
Group B
Sunderland 0-1 Sheffield United
Amy Andrews gave Sheffield United the lead late in the first half at Sunderland, and with that proving to be the only goal, the Blades moved within a point of leaders Liverpool.

Brighton & Hove Albion v Southampton - Subway Women's League Cup

Brighton took until midway through the second half to make the breakthrough against Southampton, Kiko Seike with the finish helped by Rachel McLauchlan. Three minutes later it was 2-0, Fran Kirby scoring aided by Joreli Carabali. Seike scored her second and Albion’s third in stoppage time, as they moved level on points with leaders West Ham but having played one game more.

Crystal Palace 3-2 Ipswich Town
London City Lionesses 0-1 Leicester City

London City Lionesses were defeated by Leicester City, with Jutta Rantala scoring within two minutes to secure back-to-back wins.
Emma Watson bagged a seven-minute brace at the end of the first 45 for Crystal Palace, with Natasha Thomas netting in between for Ipswich. Paige Peake pulled Town level, but Allyson Swaby restored Palace’s lead with time running out from a ball by Annabel Blanchard, to claim their first points.

Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 Birmingham City
Bristol City 0-3 Aston Villa

Olivia Holdt had Spurs a goal to the good after 40 minutes aided by Matilda Vinberg, who was again involved as Amanda Nildén got their second eight minutes after the interval. Holdt added her second as Vinberg was again her provider.
Lucia Kendall set up Natasha Daly to give Aston Villa the lead after only three minutes. Georgia Mullett made it 2-0 by the half-hour mark, Ciara Grant with the assist. Eboy Salmon’s late penalty saw Villa finish 3-0 winners over Bristol City.
