Can Anyone Stop Puka Nacua? Rams WR on Track for All-Time Receiving Mark

It’s as if Puka Nacua is writing another chapter in his legend each week. The Rams’ wide receiver in Los Angeles is not only good, but he is also re-scripting the numbers. In six games of the 2025 season, Nacua has the highest number of receptions in the NFL with 54 and is in third position in terms of receiving yards with 616 yards. He has been the driving force of the Rams’ offense, which helped them rise to a 4-2 record.

What is interesting is the ease with which he does it. Nacua does not have to rely on speed (his only weapon); he wins with his feet, timing, and mixture with quarterback Matthew Stafford. The defenses cannot shut him up, even when they know he is the best choice. In Week 6, none of the receivers had a greater number of targets, first downs, or influence on the passing rhythm of their team. He was put on a temporary hold due to an ankle injury in Baltimore, but that was only a setback in what seems to be a legendary season.

Nacua’s reliability is no stranger to the NFL world. He can line up anywhere or play zone coverage and adapt to any throw. Armed oppositions have tried to trip him, yet Stafford believes he will sense a crevice anywhere.

His tackle, at the point of catch, and after-contact balance make him a nightmare. Through six games, he is only averaging 102.7 yards per game, which is higher than Calvin Johnson’s average during the same time span during his record-breaking 2012 season.

If we compare, Johnson completed the same year with 1,964 yards in 16 games, averaging 122.8 yards per game. Nacua pays a per-game mark a bit, but it benefited from the advantage of the modern 17-game schedule, having an extra week to break it.

In his current situation, he could have 1,746 yards and 153 catches, breaking the record of 149 first-year catches that catcher Michael Thomas had in a season. His 1,947-yard total of 2021 (once considered unreachable) would be accessible even to Cooper Kupp.

Per his stats, it is clearly the season of domination of Nacua, which is the best in the league. He is ahead of Christian McCaffrey, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Ja’Marr Chase in major categories and is one of the only two players with an average of more than 100 yards per game. However, if injury doesn’t take a toll on his health, he is not merely after a record; he is etching a legacy.

So, can anyone stop Puka Nacua? Currently, the solution is not complex: only time or injuries can. But Puka Nacua will surely give a stellar performance.
