The 65-year-old was last employed by Liverpool, leaving in October 2024 after 12 years of service to the Reds.

It would be expected that Fallows would work closely with Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, who are both currently working as sporting directors for the Blues.

The incredible attack future Chelsea chief Dave Fallows constructed at Liverpool

There has been some criticism fired the way of the Chelsea chiefs for their squad planning, and the fact that there are still some quite obvious holes in the squad.

The Blues have struggled to find a recognised number nine in the squad in the absence of Liam Delap, however they can take encouragement from the attacking force Fallows helped put together at Anfield.

According to The Athletic, Fallows was key to the signings of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, who ended up forming one of the best frontlines the Premier League has ever seen.

The trio combined for 20 goals and assists against Chelsea, with the Blues being well aware of the quality their arch-rivals had at their disposal, and what they could form if Fallows works his magic again.

The positive for any key member of staff coming into the club right now is that there are a lot of good pieces at Stamford Bridge to build around.

Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill, Moises Caicedo and Marc Cucurella are amongst the best players in the world in their positions, and they are backed up by a number of promising additions over the past few years.

If there is one request amongst the majority of Chelsea fans, it would be for the club to bring in more experience to help marshal the young squad through tough moments.

There are reports that the Blues are linked with the signing of Mike Maignan, who would help provide a level of experience at the top level that no one in the current squad can boast.
