The Spanish media have delivered a glowing review of Leeds United loanee Mateo Joseph after he scored his first goals for Mallorca.
Mateo Joseph got off the mark for Mallorca in La Liga as they completed a thrilling comeback to beat Sevilla 3-1, scoring three goals in 10 second-half minutes.
Mallorca’s comeback win prompted Largie Ramazani and several more of Joseph’s former Leeds teammates to send him messages of support on social media.
Joseph’s display was in stark contrast to his parent club’s abject defeat, as Leeds missed a string of big chances as they fell to a 2-0 defeat.
Now, the Spanish media have praised Mallorca for his impact in the win over Sevilla, crediting him with sparking his side into life after a difficult start to the season.

Joseph finally made his mark in a Mallorca shirt, scoring his first goals for the club in his eighth appearance to lift his side up to 15th in La Liga.
Diario AS led the praise for Joseph, describing his impact on the game as “decisive”, as they wrote: “Decisive. He scored his first two goals for Mallorca to seal the comeback. Excellent, showed his quality in finishing both goals.”
Marca reported Mallorca coach Jagoba Arraste’s post-match comments on Joseph, explaining the lengths he is going to improve his game.

Arraste said: “He’s working hard to improve. He always stays at the end of training to improve his finishing. I’m very happy.”
Balearic paper Ultima Hora praised Joseph for his movement in the build-up to the winning goal, as he evaded the Sevilla defence to latch onto a defensive error before slotting home with a cool finish.
They wrote: “Marcao failed to deal with a simple clearance and laid it at the feet of Mateo Joseph, who was much quicker to react than Sevilla’s centre-backs and beat the opposing goalkeeper.”

Mateo Joseph promises there is more to come
Joseph was not the only Leeds loanee to enjoy a successful weekend, as Joe Gelhardt also found the net for Hull City.
Speaking after the game, via Mallorca’s X (formerly Twitter) account, Joseph promised that there was more to come from his team after a famous comeback win.
According to Joseph, the game against Sevilla is a true reflection of the team, and they will pick up more wins with performances like the one at the weekend. He said: “We knew that this was a very difficult game, that they were coming into the game in good form.
“We have shown what we are capable of when we have the energy and the desire to give thanks to the fans, because it has been spectacular throughout the match.
“The team is also incredible. This is what we see in training, and if we can transfer it to the match like today, there will be more days like this.”
