Matthew Stafford Makes NFL History In International Series Game vs Jaguars

The Los Angeles Rams have alternated wins and losses every week since starting the season 2-0.

Over that month-long stretch, they lost to the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and NFC West division rival San Francisco 49ers while beating the Baltimore Ravens and handing the Indianapolis Colts their first loss of the year.

And though their offense had become a little stagnant the last two weeks - they averaged 348 yards and 20 points during that span - that wasn't the case Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 182 yards and five touchdowns and the Rams left London with a dominant 35-7 win as L.A. improved to 5-2.

Along with it being his first five-touchdown game since November 26, 2015, Stafford also made some NFL history in the process, becoming the first player ever with five or more touchdown passes in an International Series game.

"And we have history," Rich Eisen said on the NFL Network broadcast. "Davante Adams' third touchdown catch of the day and Matthew Stafford sets an International Series record with his fifth touchdown throw here at Wembley."

Stafford found Adams on a fade in the right corner of the end zone for his third touchdown of the game. It marked Adams' 25th career multi-touchdown game and his third career three-touchdown game.

Stafford also become the first player since Jimmy Garoppolo, his current backup, with four or more touchdown passes and zero interceptions in an International Series game. Garoppolo did so back in Mexico City in 2022 with the San Francisco 49ers.

Sunday marked the fifth five-touchdown game of Stafford's career, and his sixth game of four or more touchdowns with no interceptions.
