Can Nuno Change West Ham’s Fortunes Against Bogey-side Brentford?

By Louis Nixon

**West Ham are set to tackle Brentford on Monday night’s home boycott fixture, which’ll see Nuno take charge of his first home game.**

Upon tomorrow’s fixture, West Ham have previously faced the Bees eight times in the Premier League, in which the Hammers have come out on top in only one of them, which was a 4-2 victory back in February 2024, where Jarrod Bowen scored a hat-trick and Emerson added a fourth through a rifled shot from the edge of the box.

Brentford, on the other hand, are spoiled for choice when it comes to picking out victories, as they’ve managed to secure six against the Hammers across the last eight games, which equates to a 75% win percentage.

A draw has only occurred once between the sides, which came in September 2024 at the Gtech Community Stadium, where Brentford went 1-0 up just a minute in but Tomas Soucek would score in the 54th closing the game out at 1-1, conviniently, Soucek is also able to return to the squad on Monday night seeing as his suspension has now concluded.

Unfortunately, not only have Brentford become one of our ‘bogey teams’ with time, but West Ham have also had a torrid record against London clubs this season, as we’ve been subjected to losses against Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Tottenham this season.

Nuno will have to hope that his West Ham side will be able to impress and put together a result on what is already set to be a gloomy night that has an underlying feeling of hostile aggression to it.

Will the Bees continue to be a bogey side against the Hammers? Or will Nuno achieve his first win for the club, and one that is so desperately needed in dire moments like these?
