Broncos vs. Giants: The matchup

The Broncos are listed as 7.5-point betting favorites with their home crowd behind them and a chance to keep taking steps in their hopes for an AFC playoff bid. Denver brings the No. 2 total defense (254.2 ypg) and No. 2 scoring defense (15.8 ppg) with an offense still looking to settle into a rhythm with second-year quarterback Bo Nix. That attacking defense won the day last weekend in London with a 13-11 win over the New York Jets where Denver logged nine sacks on quarterback Justin Fields. The Broncos run game is revamped and more effective behind veteran J.K. Dobbins, who has rushed for 442 yards and four touchdowns, and rookie R.J. Harvey, who averages 4.7 yards per carry.

The Giants are also young in key spots with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart having unseated veteran Russell Wilson for the starting job to join fellow rookie Cam Skattebo in the New York backfield. New York is 2-1 with Dart under center with wins over the Los Angeles Chargers (21-18) and Philadelphia Eagles (34-17) accompanying a disappointing 26-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 5. Dart’s dual threat has been apparent in those contests with 50-plus rushing yards in all three of them.
