Should Nuno start Tomas Soucek against Brentford?

**Tomas Soucek returns from suspension against Brentford on Monday night, but will Nuno chose to start the midfielder?**

Nuno Espírito Santo has had two matches in charge of West Ham and Tomas Soucek hasn’t been availsble to him for either of those matches due to suspension.

In both matches so far, Nuno has opted for a midfield three of Lucas Paqueta, Matheus Fernandes or Soungoutou Magassa. The latter being the more defensive of the three with the lusophone duo ahead of him.

If Soucek was to come into the side it would be in the place of either Paqueta or Fernandes. The 30-year-old can play in the deeper role but he doesn’t have the quality on the ball to play there on his own.

Not only that, he shines further up the pitch where he is able to make runs into the box and score goals. While his lack of quality shows further up the pitch, his ability to score clutch goals makes up for it.

I personally don’t think Nuno will decide to start with Soucek, even though Fernandes and Paqueta haven’t been great in either game under his stewardship so far. I feel like this is the midfield three he wants to go with and he will have been working on I over the break, albeit without Paqueta who was playing for Brazil.

Hammers fans have been calling for Soucek to play a super-sub role for sometime now, Monday night could be a perfect opportunity for him to show he can do that.It will be a tough game against the Bees and Soucek could be key to changing the game late on.
