Manchester United legend Roy Keane has praised Bruno Fernandes for his role in the Reds' winner at Liverpool on Sunday.
Goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire, with a Cody Gakpo equaliser sandwiched in between, led to United's first three points at Anfield since January 2016 under Louis van Gaal. Sunday's 2-1 victory also marked the first time United have secured consecutive wins under Ruben Amorim in the Premier League, following their win over Sunderland before the international break.
The Reds will now be hoping that this first win against their bitter rivals in nearly 10 years can spark a resurgence under Ruben Amorim, who has been under immense scrutiny this season. Sunday's victory has propelled them to ninth place in the league table - just two points shy of fourth-placed Liverpool.
Maguire's winner at Anfield was assisted by a brilliant cross from Fernandes. That moment of magic from the Portuguese has received praise from Keane - a compliment which was in stark contrast to his fierce criticism of United's captain last season.
"I'd say 99 players out of 100 would've controlled that," he told Sky Sports.
"The pace it's coming at him. Not many players could do that."
On United's win as a whole - Keane insists it is not a moment to get carried away at Old Trafford. United host Brighton & Hove Albion next, who have a good record at M16 in recent seasons.
"I wouldn't go as far as to say Man Utd are back but it's a huge win for them," he said.
"We've all been critical of this group of players over the last year but on today's performance, they showed grit. They stuck at it and you felt they had goals in them.
"It's a big moment for these players and they should enjoy it. But now they have to kick on."
