Arsenal have the chance to bring in some new signings when the January transfer window opens up

Arsenal won 1-0 away at Fulham this weekend with Leandro Trossard scoring their winner. They are unbeaten in their last eight games in all competitions since their defeat at Liverpool in late August. Mikel Arteta’s side are carrying momentum at the moment.

The Gunners will be in confident mood as they look to win the Premier League title. They are back in action on Tuesday at home to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League as they look to keep their form going. The London outfit then lock horns with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium next Sunday.

Arsenal keen on Djylian N'Guessan

Arsenal have the chance to sign some players in the January transfer window. They were busy on the recruitment front this past summer and brought in the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi and Eberechi Eze, among others, to bolster their ranks. The Gunners have the opportunity to further boost their squad this winter if needed.

With that in mind, CaughtOffside claim they will ‘battle’ to sign Saint-Etienne forward Djylian N'Guessan. However, they face competition from elsewhere for the youngster’s signature. Brighton and Hove Albion, Brentford, Watford have also been mentioned as potential suitors, as well as Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

N’Guessan, 17, is being tipped for a bright future in the game. If the Gunners lured him over to England, he would be a long-term addition. Saint-Etienne are expected to face a real battle to keep hold of him down the line amid attention from elsewhere.

He has been on the books of the Ligue 2 club for his whole career to date. The France youth international has risen up through their academy and was a regular at various different youth levels. He then broke into their first-team earlier this year whilst they were still in Ligue 1 before their relegation and he hasn’t looked back since.

Arsenal carrying momentum

Arsenal will be relieved to have picked up all three points against Fulham. They had to dig deep to get the result at Craven Cottage. Speaking afterwards, Arteta said: “The recent history wasn't in our favour and we wanted to change that like we did against Newcastle and West Ham at home and that's another step, having that mindset and that ability to win these kinds of matches against a really good opposition, a really difficult place to come.

“And especially the first 10 to 15 minutes, it took us a while to get into the game with some very unusual giveaways that has caused some transitions and after that we started to dominate the game throughout the rest of the game much better. We talked about knocking on the door against this team, they are really well organised, especially with the context of the result. The more it dragged on, I think we were better and better and managed to win the game and another clean sheet.”

He added: “I don't like looking back, but if you ask me how I would describe the team, the players, they're tough and very, very willing.”
