Takeaways from Cleveland Browns 31-6 Dominating Win over Miami Dolphins

The Browns had their fourth turnover as Ronnie Hickman picked off Tagovailia and returned the interception 16 yards to the Dolphins' 42 with 9:58 to play.

The Browns did not turn the ball over for the third-straight game, but Gabriel did throw an interception that was negated on a pass interference penalty.

The plus-four in turnover ratio gives the Browns a zero turnover ratio through seven games.

Defense Contains Dolphins

Despite a 1-5 record coming into the game, the Dolphins entered the game averaging 22.3 points per game. Outside of a 46-yard run by Devon Achane, the defense kept the Dolphins under control.

The defense had three interceptions that were turned into 14 points, three turnovers overall, into 21 points.

"That offense had been scoring a lot of points," Stefanski said. "That's an explosive offense, have a ton of respect for Mike (McDaniels) and what they do, and our defense met the challenge."

The Browns defense held the Dolphins to just 116 yards in the first half, six first downs and held Miami to just 1-of-6 on third down. 46 of the Dolphins' rushing yards came on one 46-yard run by Devon Achane, but the defense held the Dolphins to a field goal.

Overall, the defense held the Dolphins to 219 yards (99 rushing, 120 passing) with five sacks and 11 tackles for loss, besides the turnovers.

On the first play of the second half, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa tried a sideline route to De'Von Achane, and Tyson Campbell intercepted the ball and returned for a touchdown from 34 yards out to open the second half. It was the first time the Browns went over 20 points this season and the first time since Dec. 2, 2024.
