The Trail Blazers have agreed to terms on a two-way deal with Javonte Cooke, reports Shams Charania of ESPN (Twitter link).
Cooke, a 6’6″ guard who went undrafted in 2023, played three games with the Blazers during preseason, averaging 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 7.5 minutes per game.
The 26-year-old took an unusual path to the NBA. A Division-II basketball player in college who finished his career at Winston-Salem State, Cooke has played in the G League as well as the Canadian Elite Basketball League since leaving college. Last year with the Oklahoma City Blue, he averaged 16.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.
Cooke will join Caleb Love and Sidy Cissoko as the third and final available two-way spot for Portland.
