**THE STORY**: It was there for the Cardinals on Sunday, but being close at the end isn't enough.
Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett's fourth-down pass into a crowd from the Green Bay 27-yard line fell incomplete in the end zone with six seconds left, allowing the Green Bay Packers to escape State Farm Stadium with a 27-23 victory.
Up 23-20 with four minutes left, Brissett was stuffed on a fourth-and-1 sneak at his own 48, giving the Packers (4-1-1) the ball. A Jordan Love 15-yard pass to tight end Tucker Kraft on fourth-and-2 kept the drive alive, and Josh Jacobs eventually barreled into the end zone for a four-point lead.
Brissett responded, finding Zay Jones on a 24-yard gain to jump start the drive. But Micah Parsons had his third sack of the game to force a timeout and the Cardinals (2-5) couldn't recover.
The Cardinals outgained the Packers, 330-262, and both teams ended up with 94 rushing yards.
