Joe Rogan reveals where Jon Jones gets ‘super athlete’ gene that made him UFC’s greatest ever

Joe Rogan has revealed that Jon Jones and his star athlete brothers received the gene that makes them ‘super athletes’ from one family member in particular.

The legendary two-weight UFC champion is not the only elite competitor in his family – his late brother Arthur and his youngest sibling Chandler both won Super Bowls in their NFL careers. And it is regularly claimed that if his brothers got into fighting, they could have been world champions in their own right.

All three of the Jones brothers are over 6’3 in height and compete at the top level of their sports between 240lb and 300lb. And Rogan claims that he was once told by the former light-heavyweight and heavyweight champion that it was all down to their grandmother, who was a gigantic character.

Upon a cursory glance at photos of them together, one might wonder where Jon Jones and his brothers got their height and size from. Their mother looked a standard size, and their dad Arthur Jr appeared to be a bit shorter than his children.

However, voice of the octagon Joe Rogan has noted that Jones once told him that it was their grandmother who gave them the ‘super athlete’ gene. She was allegedly a woman of far above average height, and clearly would indicate where their greatness came from.

“They’re huge and their grandmother, Jon told me, is where the genetics come from,” Rogan told comedian Andrew Schulz on a recent episode of his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience. “He introduced me to his grandma and she’s big, man.

“She’s a big lady… Jon’s always having a good time, I like how he wears cowboy hats now leaning into it. He’s the sheriff, it’s funny how they were trying to pressure him to fight Tom Aspinall… He’s doing what a pool hustler does, if he really thinks he’s fighting in June, then he’s already in camp.”
