Ange Postecoglou slammed by former EPL star in wake of Nottingham Forest sacking

Former Premier League midfielder and EFL manager Joey Barton has taken aim at Ange Postecoglou, after he was sacked by Nottingham Forest over the weekend.

Postecoglou was dismissed less than 20 minutes after Forest's 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, giving him the unwanted record of the shortest managerial reign in Premier League history at just 39 days.

Barton, who himself used to manage Fleetwood Town and Bristol Rovers, has added salt to the wounds in the wake of Postecoglou's dismissal, in a scathing social media post.

"I hope this arrogant, foreign, snake oil salesman is never appointed in this country again," Barton posted on X.

"His contempt for people in the media is completely unfounded based on his career as a player and a manager."

"Scottish and Japanese leagues? Might as well manage in Timbuktu. Premier League is top tier and Big Ange Notgotaclue has been well and truly found out! Nonsense Potter."

Barton has been an outspoken critic of Postecoglou since arrival at Nottingham Forest, referring to him as 'Notgotaclue' in three separate X posts earlier this month.

Postecoglou has often been praised for his straightforward and direct approach with the media, his most famous encounter being an SBS interview with Craig Foster during his time as manager of the Socceroos.

But it would seem Barton was not a fan.

Postecoglou has yet to respond to the comments.
