The pick-six marked Campbell's first career touchdown off an interception, as well as the first interception returned for a touchdown for the Browns since S Ronnie Hickman against the Jets on Dec. 28, 2023.
Campbell added to his pick-six with two passes defensed and two key tackles against the Dolphins. Early in the first quarter as Achane broke through the Browns' defense and ran down the field, Campell took off. He caught up to Achane and pushed him out of bounds for the tackle, ending Achane's 46-yard gain.
As a high school state champion in Florida for the 100 meters and 200 meters in track and field, Campbell knew he could catch Achane. So, he put that speed to the test to try and make a play.
"The play is not over until it is over," Campbell said. "That is definitely my mindset. The play is not over until it is over so I feel like I can still make a play, that's what I try to do, and use my track speed."
Jenkins knew Campbell had that mentality and those attributes to his game, as they spent three seasons as teammates in Jacksonville from 2021-23. Campbell was drafted by the Jaguars as the 33rd overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, while Jenkins signed with Jacksonville during free agency that same year.
"I'm extremely happy," Jenkins said. "We came in together there, and man, once he settles in, everybody will really see the true value of his game. He's a really good player, good person. I'm just happy to see things just playing out how it did over there."
