Our under-19s will aim to secure their first win of this season’s UEFA Youth League when we face Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, October 21, at the Mangata Developments Stadium. Kick-off is at 1pm (UK time).
All the action will be available to watch for free on Arsenal.com and the official app from 12.55pm.
Earlier this month, Josh Ugunnaike found the net in a 2-1 defeat to Olympiacos — a match in which we played vast periods down to 10 men. We are currently three points off the round of 32 qualification spots after defeat in our first two games.

The Opposition
After a goalless draw with Liverpool on matchday one, the Madrid-based side edged out Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1, thanks to late goals from Sergio Vinatea and Jorge Rajado.
Domestically, the Spanish outfit competes in the Division de Honor Juvenil, where they currently sit second in Group 5 after five games. Their latest outing saw them beat Las Rozas 2-0.
We last faced Los Colchoneros in the Youth League 2014/15 round of 16 stage, when Amath Ndiaye's goal in the first minute was enough to send our opponents through to the quarter-finals. The game featured the likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Alex Iwobi and Chris Willock.
Youth League Pedigree
Atletico's best finish in the European competition came in 2021/22, when they reached the semi-final stage. After coming runners-up in their group, they beat Hajduk Split on penalties, overcame fierce rivals Real Madrid 3-2 and saw off Borussia Dortmund 1-0 on their way through to the final four.
In the latter stage, they were stunned by former champions, Red Bull Salzburg, who booked their place in the final with an emphatic 5-0 victory.
Last season, Madrid were knocked out once more by their Austrian foes, after a 2-1 defeat in the round of 16.
