Manchester United's next Premier League fixture after the thrilling win against Liverpool sees them return to Old Trafford to host Brighton and Hove Albion.

Ruben Amorim's team finally have lift off after a huge 2-1 victory at Anfield against the Premier League champions - the biggest of his time at the club so far. Goals from Bryan Mbeumo - one of Amorim's big summer signings - and Harry Maguire were enough to see off Arne Slot's side.

The Red Devils had a busy summer transfer window, with Amorim and his team focusing particularly on bolstering the attack. Alongside Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko were signed, plus goalkeeper Senne Lammens who impressed at Anfield.

Following the influx of new players, there has been significant speculation about potential departures. Casemiro's contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and there have been rumours about Bruno Fernandes potentially moving to Saudi Arabia, although his immediate future at Old Trafford seems secure. Here's all the latest news from United.

United manager Amorim has addressed the speculation surrounding Kobbie Mainoo and Joshua Zirkzee's futures, reports the Mirror.

Mainoo hasn't started a league game this season and is eager for more playing time ahead of next year's World Cup. He sought a loan move over the summer, but Amorim blocked this, insisting he must compete with Fernandes for a place in the starting XI.

Zirkzee has also struggled to secure regular playing time, and things simply haven't clicked for the Dutch forward at Old Trafford.

Consequently, there has been ongoing speculation surrounding their futures, with January expected to be hectic for United, who are also looking to find a successor for Casemiro, potentially departing next summer.

Amorim acknowledged he comprehends why the pair would feel frustrated about their limited minutes with the World Cup approaching: "That is normal. I also know that in our club everything is a lot of noise. You have to have news. Players are not playing. They want to play.

"Like you said, there's a World Cup. There are agents that listen to the players talking all the time. So I understand that, but they are our players and we need everyone to have a good season."

David Beckham has been contacted to support a takeover of United, according to reports.

There are whispers that a consortium from the United Arab Emirates are preparing a bid to purchase the Glazers' controlling stake. Beckham is reportedly being courted to serve as an ambassador for the proposal.

Naturally, Beckham already has his own footballing business interests, including his American side Inter Miami and shared ownership of Salford City with former teammate Gary Neville. The Glazers are said to be demanding a whopping £5billion for their majority stake in the club, and if the consortium does take over United, Beckham would have the opportunity to invest.

Beckham has previously voiced his criticism of the Glazers and expressed interest in becoming involved with the club.

In other news, goalkeeper Lammens has imposed an unusual new rule in the dressing room. The pre-match superstition bans any talk of clean sheets, as the Belgian international believes that discussing them could curse his performance.

After keeping a clean sheet on his debut, it seems there might be some logic to his eccentricity. His brother Tom told the Daily Mail: "According to him, that brings bad luck, I don't send anything to Senne before the match about clean sheets."

And the superstitions don't end there, according to Brian Vandenbussche, Lammens' former goalkeeping coach at Antwerp.

"I didn't like it either... You jinx it," he said. "I know it's superstition, but don't do it. Senne has things he does in a specific order before his warm-up.

"He always wanted me to stand ready before he went out. He did a fist bump with the other two goalkeepers and with me, that was important to him.

"Also, before the game, he went back to the bench because he needed me to give the drink bottles to him. He did it for me to give him the last couple of words of advice."
