Benji Casey is set to sign a professional contract at Crystal Palace, the News Shopper understands.
Casey, who turns 18 in November, scored 12 goals as a first-year scholar for Palace’s Under-18s last season and has carried the hot form into the new campaign, providing 11 goals and two assists in seven appearances.
The England youth international assisted in his first camp with Neil Ryan’s Under-18s earlier this month and will now be rewarded with a professional deal at Selhurst Park.
The highly rated forward made his debut for Palace’s Under-21 side in September, featuring in their penalty shootout defeat to League Two Bromley in the EFL Trophy.
Plans are already in place for Casey to make the permanent step up to Darren Powell's outfit in the coming months.
