Crystal Palace 'could potentially' swoop for £35m star in January - journalist

Crystal Palace could lose Marc Guehi in January, and Oliver Glasner would undoubtedly need to sign a replacement.

Speaking last week, Oliver Glasner confirmed Marc Guehi is leaving Crystal Palace next year. His contract expires at the end of the season but there’s a chance he leaves in January.

Guehi has interest from some top clubs around Europe including from the likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona, so clubs moving in January to get ahead in the Guehi race seems plausible.

One player who could yet replace him at Selhurst Park is Yann Bisseck.

Yann Bisseck to Crystal Palace update shared

Bisseck has been linked with a move to Crystal Palace ahead of January, after the German international was linked with the Eagles during the summer transfer window.

And speaking to German outlet wettfreunde, Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio revealed that Palace could still make a January swoop for Bisseck, though the transfer fee could be a sticking point.

“I can’t imagine Bisseck leaving in January,” Di Marzio said. “Inter value him highly. The transfer fee would be at least €35-40million, which Frankfurt won’t spend in January. Crystal Palace could potentially make a move in January to replace Marc Guehi if he leaves the club.”

Confusion over Yann Bisseck asking price

Just last week, it was reported that Bisseck is open to joining Crystal Palace in January in a bid to get himself back in contention for the German national side ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

In the same report, it was claimed that Inter would allow him to leave for a cut price fee of £22million, which differs greatly from the £30.4-34.8million mentioned above.

For Palace, it may be that Bisseck is simply being monitored with regards to what happens to Guehi in January. Right now though, it looks as though Guehi is staying until the summer.
