Confidence Nottingham Forest will complete €25m purchase despite club turmoil

Douglas Luiz joined Nottingham Forest from Juventus on an initial loan deal in the summer.

The Brazilian has made four appearances so far in all competitions, and two of those have been starts in the Premier League. Despite Nottingham Forest’s struggles, it seems like they are confident about the 27-year-old.

TuttoSport note that even though Evangelos Marinakis is yet to appoint a new manager, Douglas Luiz’s game time will increase.

There is belief at Nottingham Forest that the Brazil man has put fitness worries behind him. While the club’s own resurgence feels like a complicated task, Douglas Luiz’s fortunes are expected to change.

This comes as good news to Juventus.

The Bianconeri earned €3m from the loan deal in the summer. If things go well for the midfielder at Nottingham Forest, they will earn €25m if he is signed permanently.

Douglas Luiz needs to play 15 games in the season for the mandatory buyout clause to be triggered.

This will be huge for the Italian side, who signed the player for €50m in 2024. His time in Turin was a failure but earning a reasonable amount from the sale is crucial.
