West Ham vs Brentford tonight is a six-pointer for the Hammers

By Louis Nixon

**West Ham host Brentford on Monday night football this evening, and it could be a huge game for the Hammers season.**

The term six-pointer tends to be used in moments when fighting for Europe, or perhaps a relegation fight come the end of the season, but we’re just seven fixtures into the Premier League season, and it appears that we’re already fighting for a six-pointer

Coming into the Premier League season, many fans and pundits tipped Brentford to go down after a transfer window of losing players, as well as Thomas Frank himself. The odds for West Ham to have a successful season weren’t great either, with many suspecting that Graham Potter would have an average season at the Hammers at best, but since the appalling start and the takeover with Nuno coming in, it’s currently now an unknown.

Whilst a low turnout is suspected for the Hammers tonight, what happens across the pitch is what will be crucial not only for the fans, but for the team as well. Nuno’s currently inherited a squad that’s running off every fixture without confidence or passion…it’s like setting off in a steam train with no coal!

However, the perfect opportunity to reignite confidence has been provided through the Premier League scheduling, as the Hammers are set to play two fixtures within a week, seeing as a game against Leeds is set to take place on Friday, the 24th, at 20:00.

A result against Brentford is more crucial than most might believe; it could be the foundation to kickstart our engines and really get on a roll under Nuno. With the long season ahead, anything can happen.
