In recent years, FC Barcelona have witnessed a remarkable influx of young talents from La Masia into the first team. Players such as Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Fermin Lopez, Gavi, and Alejandro Balde have all established themselves as key figures, carrying forward the proud legacy of the academy.
Yet, the talent well at La Masia shows no sign of drying up, with another promising name now making waves and pushing for recognition: Sama Nomoko.
According to [SPORT](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/atento-flick-sama-nomoko-muy-serio-barcelona-122791984), the 17-year-old right winger has been in outstanding form for Barça Atlètic, and his latest performance against Atlètic Lleida only strengthened his growing reputation.
Despite the team’s 3–2 defeat, Nomoko was one of the standout performers on the pitch, constantly troubling defenders with his pace, skill, and ability to create chances for his teammates.
Nomoko’s performance in Lleida came on the back of several impressive displays in recent weeks, including a standout showing against Reus FC Reddis, where he provided two assists.
His consistency and maturity have not gone unnoticed, and comparisons with Lamine Yamal, who made a swift rise from La Masia to the first team a couple of seasons ago, are starting to look increasingly well-founded.
The report from SPORT also notes that Nomoko’s playing style bears similarities to Yamal’s, particularly in his ability to beat defenders one-on-one and make intelligent decisions in the final third.
Like the Rocafonda-born prodigy, Nomoko combines flair with an excellent understanding of team play, always looking to set up the best-positioned teammate rather than focusing solely on individual brilliance.
Nomoko’s recent run of form is likely to have caught the attention of Hansi Flick, who continues to keep a close eye on the club’s youth ranks. However, one potential challenge for Nomoko could be his position.
Like Lamine Yamal, he excels as a right winger, where Barcelona already possess world-class talent. Even so, his maturity, decision-making, and ability to adapt could soon earn him consideration for the first team, especially if his development continues at the current pace.
When it comes to the future, the competition could become interesting. Lamine Yamal remains untouchable on the right flank, but a conversation may emerge around Roony Bardghji.
The Swedish winger has also been in fine form, [as seen in the recent Catalan derby against Girona](https://semprebarca.com/pedri-9-0-frenkie-8-5-fc-barcelona-2-1-girona-player-ratings/), and is viewed as another strong attacking option for Hansi Flick.
Yet, if Sama Nomoko continues developing as he has so far, it would not be unrealistic to see him challenging for a place in the Barcelona first team alongside Bardghji in the coming months.
He may still be a youth player, but performances like the one in Lleida suggest that even the reserve side could soon be too small for him.
