Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is feeling the heat after back-to-back defeats and a run of one win in seven. The 2-0 loss at Burnley was particularly concerning as the home side seemed to have the measure of Leeds despite the latter dominating the ball and creating chances.
Farke’s record in the Premier League means that he was always going to be one bad run away from facing questions about his future at Leeds this season. While he is proven in the Championship, the German head coach is on a much shorter leash in the top flight.

It has been more than two weeks since Rangers sacked Martin following a 123-day reign that was nothing short of disastrous. However, the club are yet to bring in a new manager.
Steven Gerrard rejected a chance to return to Ibrox after holding detailed discussions with the club, and even Kevin Muscat took his name out of the running after it seemed certain last week that he was on his way back to Scotland.
Rangers are back in talks with former Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl, who also rejected the Scottish giants a while back.
There is a sense that the new board sacked Martin without a plan, and the search for a new manager has come under intense scrutiny.
Rangers fans have been left furious with the way the new owners have run the club since taking charge, which involved the disastrous appointment of Martin and the ensuing mess.
The Glasgow giants are sitting sixth in the league table and are on course to have one of their worst seasons in the club’s modern history.
Rangers have not finished below third in the league in close to 40 years.
Can Leeds afford to sack Farke?
The 49ers got the Farke appointment spot on in 2023, and backed him even after Leeds lost the playoff final and failed to get promoted at the end of the season.
The German coach repaid the faith by having Leeds’ best season in the Championship, where they won the league, got promoted and put 100 points on the board.
Leeds backed Farke even after calls for them to find a new manager for the Premier League, as the 49ers admire the stability he has brought to Elland Road.
However, the 49ers are desperate to establish Leeds in the Premier League and realise their plans to turn them into a £1bn club by 2030.
A poor run of form is threatening Farke’s job security as the owners do not want to envisage returning to the Championship after just one season in the top flight.
However, sacking Farke could further destabilise the club, given how clueless the 49ers have looked when it comes to bringing in a new manager at Rangers.
Leeds cannot afford this amount of instability behind the scenes while trying to survive in the Premier League this season.
Farke may get more time than we think, as the 49ers may want to avoid repeating the same process at Elland Road in the middle of the campaign.
