Danny Welbeck shares what was being said as he and Nick Woltemade had heated discussion on…

**Danny Welbeck loves scoring against Newcastle United; in fact, we are pretty convinced it's the only reason he hasn't retired yet.**

The Brighton and Hove Albion striker, who spent time at the Stadium of Light earlier in his career, just can't seem to help himself from ruining Geordies' days.

The 34-year-old had two attempts at goal on Saturday afternoon at the Amex Stadium, both on target, both went beyond Nick Pope and into the net.

After scoring the second to cancel out Nick Woltemade's leveller, the two players could be seen having a heated debate when heading back to the centre circle for the restart.

Danny Welbeck has no issue with Nick Woltemade after their centre circle discussion

Speaking to the media after the game (via [The Argus](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/25555046.danny-welbeck-reveals-lively-exchange-newcastle-man/)), Welbeck clarified what was being said, but insisted that it was just heat-of-the-moment stuff and the two were fine once the full-time whistle blew.

> “He was kind of telling me to hurry up after the second goal, to get back so they can restart. “It's part of the game but it was nice to get the two goals and, most important, the three points puts us in a nice position going into next week.“We had a few words but it's football and there’s heated discussions, there's moments on the pitch where things are said.

> “But it’s only football. Once the final whistle is blow, it's a bit of sportsmanship and's all it is.”

Nick Woltemade is keen to speak his mind

----------------------------------------

Nick Woltemade certainly isn't afraid to give out some lip as we've seen plenty of times already this season. If the German has a point to make, he's certainly not shy about making it.

Although sometimes he's perhaps a bit too polite about it, like when Gabriel punched him in the chops and he just chased after him, waving a finger instead of giving it the big theatrics.

It's rare to find integrity in the game these days. Even with the advent of VAR, we still see players trying to pull the wool over referees' eyes. It seems that's not Big Nick's game at all.
