Arne Slot's team have now lost four games in a row in all competitions as his worst-ever run continues, with defeat against Manchester United at home ending a record of nearly ten years of dominance at Anfield - and some fans in the Liverpool Echo comments section say that there is an obvious change to make that will get the team back to winning ways.

Liverpool went into the game hoping for a morale-boosting win at home, but it wasn't to be. Harry Maguire scored the winner from a header late on, shortly after a persistent Cody Gakpo managed to level the game in response the Bryan Mbeumo's second-minute opener.

Liverpool have not been at their fluent best this season, and the string of fortunate results early in the campaign will be important as Arne Slot tries to figure out where his team are going wrong. Players that were lighting up the league a year ago are looking unrecognisable, and some of the transfers are struggling to make their mark.

One of those new signings is Milos Kerkez, who some supporters think could do with some time on the bench behind Andrew Robertson. Reader Samsongforyou says: "I think the revamp has inevitably resulted in a drop-off which kick-started the whole issue, but that alone doesn't explain why we switch off from the first whistle pretty much every game.

"VvD has done his best to lead, as did Alisson before his injury, but the rest just don't look like title winners at all. Kerkez has been pretty dire, so Robertson should come back into the side not just for stability but also leadership on the pitch."

Commenter ExtraTexture writes: "Kerkez is really under the spotlight now and it shows. Playing for Liverpool is a massive difference to doing well at Bournemouth. He will improve but Robbo needs to be in at the moment with his experience.

"A settled, fit back four has deserted us this season. Palace pulling the plug on the Guehi deal has cost us. If Joe Gomez is fit surely he must be considered over Konate. Ibou for me has been by far the worst performer."

Wirtzthanever says: "Sure, Klopp had his faults, but one thing he never did was throw new players straight into the line up until they were ready. Slot is the total opposite!

"For example it doesn't matter how bad Kerkez is, he keeps starting him over Robbo. Now Isak is starting over Ekitike, and worst of all is Slot not playing Chiesa over the out-of-form Salah, when the lad makes an impact whenever he gets a chance to play, like he did today!"

Kerkez isn't the only starter that needs looking at in more detail, says Davestewart: "Robbo should be theleft back from now on. Bring Kerkez in for last 20 minutes in winning games. Salah MUST be dropped. He has not had a good 90 mins this season.

Mac Allister looked better than he has recently but still struggling, Jones gave a much better performance. We must start Ekitike, even if you start him on the right instead of Salah. Isak needs game time now with some support."

Chiemeziem001 writes: "Why is Milos, who was one of the best left-backs in the PL last season, performing so badly under Arne Slot this season? At least under Iraola at Bournemouth AFC last season he was incredibly magnificent at LB, he understood his role and played in a well-defined and properly-structured role. Why is he failing so abysmally under Arne Slot?"
