The Philadelphia Eagles aren’t a normal defending Super Bowl champion when considering the fact that Nick Sirianni’s team is 5-2 as the NFL season nears its halfway point and yet there’s still plenty of weekly discussions about whether or not the national media trusts star quarterback Jalen Hurts to lead the franchise.

Hopefully some of those discussions were put to rest Sunday when Hurts and Co. went on the road and took down the Minnesota Vikings with one of his best performances as a professional, which included posting a perfect quarterback rating for the first time in his career.

With the elite showing in Minnesota, Hurts becomes just the third QB in Eagles history to post a 158.3 rating, joining Nick Foles and Donovan McNabb as the only Philadelphia stars to finish an NFL game unblemished.
Hurts ended up throwing for over 300 yards while completing over 82 percent of his passes and adding three touchdowns to help the Eagles bounce back from their two-game losing skid against the Denver Broncos and New York Giants. Philly will have their shot at revenge against the Giants next week when New York travels down to Philadelphia in an NFC East clash.
