Bills Could Invest Heavily Into Josh Allen With Trade for $92 Million WR

After a strong 4-0 start to the 2025 NFL season, the Buffalo Bills appeared to be one of the top Super Bowl contenders in the league. However, it was still early in the season and the Bills knew that a lot of work needed to be done.

Unfortunately, over the team’s last two games, the team has come back down to earth.

Losing to both the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons were humbling experiences. Entering the bye week, there were a lot of questions that Buffalo needed to answer.

While some of the questions should be answered internally, there might be a need to find outside help. There has clearly been a need for superstar quarterback Josh Allen to have more weapons to work with offensively. In order to add that help, the Bills might have to explore the trade market.

With the trade deadline coming up quickly, Buffalo has been connected to a few different players. A new suggestion has been made that would make a ton of sense for the Bills.

Owen Klein of Buffalo Bills on SI has named Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley as a potential trade target for Buffalo.

“As such, the Bills should make a run at the 30-year-old Ridley, who’s dealing with a hamstring injury right now, but is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons,” Klein wrote.

“Tight end Dalton Kincaid leads the Bills with 287 receiving yards, speaking to the need for a receiver. There’s also an out of Ridley’s four-year, $92 million contract after 2025, so if he doesn’t end up working out, Buffalo can get rid of him.”

Ridley might be exactly the kind of playmaker that the Bills need to bring in alongside of Allen. He isn’t a superstar name, but he’s been a quality wideout for many years in the NFL.

So far this season with the Titans, Ridley has played in six games. He has caught 16 passes for 290 yards without a touchdown. Last season, he racked up 64 receptions for 1,017 yards and four scores for Tennessee.

Depending on the price tag, Ridley would be a target that Buffalo should consider. His contract would give the Bills some safety, but he also could be a fit for the team for a couple of seasons. He’s more than capable of being a go-to target.

Buffalo is not far away from being a championship level team. Making a move for a talent like Ridley could take the offense to the next level and take the Bills over the top in the AFC.
