Two of the NFC’s top teams kick off tonight’s Monday Night Football doubleheader, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-1) visit the Detroit Lions (4-2), before the Houston Texans (2-3) face off against the Seattle Seahawks (4-2).

The injury-plagued Buccaneers may be getting back two of MVP candidate Baker Mayfield's top targets in wide receivers Mike Evans and Emeka Egbuka, while the Lions are looking to avoid losing back-to-back games for the first time since 2022 Week 8.

Out west, CJ Stroud and the Texans come off their bye week hoping to continue the form they showed in a 44-10 win over the Ravens in Week 5, and Seattle looks to improve on a surprising 4-8 home record under second-year head coach Mike Macdonald.

Texans-Seahawks Under 41.5 (-115)

The second half of Monday night’s twofer will feature two of the NFL’s top defenses.

Houston allows the fewest points per game (12.2) of any team, and both units rank in the top-10 in rushing yards allowed and opponent yards per play this season.

Seattle’s weakness is its pass defense, but with Riq Woolen returning from injury and Devon Witherspoon (knee) and Julian Love (hamstring) questionable, the secondary should be in better shape.

I am trusting both defenses to force a low-scoring slugfest on Monday night.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +6 (-110)

Baker Mayfield and the Bucs are playing too well right now to be six-point underdogs, especially against a vulnerable Lions defense.

Tampa has scored 25+ points in four straight weeks, with Mayfield picking apart every defense he’s faced.

Without top defensive backs Kerby Joseph, Terrion Arnold, and Brian Branch, Detroit could be on the wrong end of another Mayfield masterclass to keep the Bucs within range in this game.

David Montgomery Over 10.5 Rush Attempts (-134)

Lions head coach Dan Campbell told media this week that he would like to give Montgomery more carries to balance the workload with backfield mate Jahymr Gibbs.

After recording an average of 12.2 rush attempts over the first five weeks, Montgomery had just four carries in Week 6. I’m trusting Campbell to stay true to his word and give Montgomery more action against Tampa.
