The San Francisco 49ers rolled on Sunday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons to improve to 5-2 in the season.
The key factor for the 49ers was star running back Christian McCaffrey, who put up his best performance of the season. McCaffrey ran for his first 100-yard game of the year, collecting 129 rushing yards and two touchdowns and added seven catches for 77 yards.
After McCaffrey's ridiculous night, an X account known for satirical and fake NFL news posted a "breaking news" contract extension for McCaffrey.

Did Christian McCaffrey sign a $1 billion extension?
The post said McCaffrey signed a new five-year, $1.1 billion extension with $670 million in guaranteed money, becoming the first billion dollar deal in NFL history.
The news is fake. However, it has fooled many 49ers' fans across social media, with over 100,000 views on X.

With McCaffrey's history performance on Sunday night, many fans believed the news was true, but there is not a billion dollar contract in the NFL yet. Even when that does happen in the future, it won't likely be for a running back.
Running backs have never been paid much, compared to their counterparts on the field, because of their injury risk and how many different backs have proven to find success in various scenarios.
That doesn't take away from the 49ers' star's incredible night, of course.
McCaffrey became to the first player in NFL history to have more rushing yards than everyone else combined, lead both teams in receiving yards and score more points than the entire opposing team.
It was also McCaffrey's seventh game of at least 100 rushing yards and 70 receiving yards, which broke a tie with Marshall Faulk and Priest Holmes for the most in NFL history.

It was an unforgettable night for McCaffrey, but he did not sign a $1 billion contract extension afterward.
