Head Coach Carly Davies’ post-match reaction following Forest Women’s 1-1 draw with Women’s Super League side Everton.
The Reds secured a point on the road in the Subway Women’s League Cup as Aimee Claypole netted her third of the season.
On the performance…
“I'm absolutely delighted with today's performance. I don't think you could really tell that much difference between the two sides.
I thought we frustrated them. We set up in a way to try and stop their rotations. They're very fluid as a team, a very good side and I thought we really frustrated them and stopped them from being able to play in the spaces that they wanted to.
They obviously tweaked a few things, tried to overload us in other areas of the pitch, and I think we adjusted and managed that really well and had some really good moments ourselves, some really good passages of play as well.
Overall, I'm absolutely delighted with the performance, and I think if it weren't for a loose pass ourselves, perhaps we're on a different side of a result.”

On facing WSL opposition…
“This is where we want to be, we're not hiding that fact. We have an ambitious owner; I'm ambitious myself and I want to get back to the WSL. That's the level that we want to be working at.
I admire the football that Everton play and the way that Brian sees the game. It's nice to have a good tactical challenge like we've had today - that's what you want as head coaches.
For me, it was more about the performance today. We've gone toe to toe with a very good Everton side that have some really big threats and we've more than held our own.”

On Aimee Claypole’s performance…
“Aimee’s a very young talent, she's obviously played a very specific style at Durham last year. She's now adapting to a different style of football with us, and she’s taken that in her stride.
She's had to be patient; she hasn't had as many starts in the first quarter as she would like. W hen she has been given those opportunities, she's certainly taken them, and she's done that again with a really positive overall performance today and then rewarded with a great penalty finish.
Delighted for her, delighted for the team. Now we go into the international break and hopefully have a good rest.”
