Enzo Maresca compares young Chelsea star to Cole Palmer

[Chelsea](https://chelseanews.com/) picked up another huge win over the weekend in the Premier League, starting off everyone’s Matchday 8 with a statement-making 3-0 pummeling of Nottingham Forest, which led directly to the unsurprising sacking of former rival manager Ange Postecoglou.

The Blues are quietly sneaking behind rivals Arsenal as main title contenders, especially with Liverpool slipping up as of late, losing over the weekend to their struggling rivals Manchester United.

Chelsea are missing superstar Cole Palme for several weeks with an injury, but even without the England international, the Blues are still very dangerous in the attack, and a big reason why are the new additions.

The best of them is young winger Estevao Willian, who is the biggest phenom in the Premier League right now, even above German international Florian Wirtz over at Liverpool.

And Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca isn’t afraid of feeding into the hype, as the top coach gave effusive praise to the Brazilian wunderkind in an interview with Sky Sport Italia:

“He is a very young boy, just 18 years old. We did everything to put him at ease, but the truth is that the boy is strong. It reminds me so much of Cole Palmer, even physically. He has the same football maturity despite his age.”

That is huge praise indeed, but anyone who has watched Willian play for Chelsea or even for Brazil or Palmeiras before all of this will say that Maresca is not out of line in the slightest.
