Leeds United could be the last team tasked with preventing Erling Haaland from equalling Jamie Vardy’s Premier League goal-scoring record when they face Manchester City in November.
Erling Haaland is on an incredible run of form in the Premier League, as he continues his record-breaking career at Manchester City.
The prolific Haaland grew up supporting Leeds thanks to his father, Alfe Inge Haaland’s connection with the club and was previously linked with a move to Elland Road.
Daniel Farke will face Haaland’s Manchester City for the first time as Leeds manager at the end of November and will be scratching his head, trying to work out how to keep the Norwegian phenomenon quiet.
Haaland may have an extra motivation heading into the game, as he looks to break the goal-scoring record set by one-time Leeds target Jamie Vardy in the 2015/16 season.

Erling Haaland could equal Premier League record against Leeds United
Haaland has enjoyed a blockbuster start to the new season, having scored 11 goals in eight games for Manchester City.
He has only failed to find the net on one occasion in the Premier League in City’s 2-0 defeat against Tottenham in August.
Since then, Haaland has found the net in six consecutive games and is closing in on Vardy’s record in the 2015/16 season, when he scored in 11 consecutive games, to surpass former Manchester United forward Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s run of 10.

Manchester City’s fixtures in Erling Haaland scoring run:
Game 1 – 1 goal vs Brighton
Game 2 – 2 goals vs Manchester United
Game 3 – 1 goal vs Arsenal
Game 4 – 2 goals vs Burnley
Game 5 – 1 goal vs Brentford
Game 6 – 2 goals vs Everton
Game 7 – Aston Villa (A)
Game 8 – Bournemouth (H)
Game 9 – Liverpool (H)
Game 10 – Newcastle United (A)
Game 11 – Leeds United (H)
If Haaland finds the net in his next four games, he will move alongside Van Nistelrooy’s goal-scoring run, and need just one more goal to draw level with Vardy.
In this case, Leeds would be the last team standing in the way of Haaland equalling Vardy, when they travel to the Etihad on the 29th November.

Leeds United are a team close to Erling Haaland’s heart
There would be a fitting symmetry if Haaland was able to draw level with Vardy against Leeds, having openly spoken of his love for the Whites.
Haaland was born in Leeds and has previously admitted that it was his dream to win the Premier League title with the Whites.
When he joined Manchester City, Haaland suggested singing Marching on Together as his initiation song, such is his affection for the club.
There is a long way to go before Haaland can celebrate equalling Vardy’s record. However, if he could choose one club to make history against, it would almost certainly be Leeds.
