Arsenal are top of the Premier League table after their first eight fixtures as Mikel Arteta’s side eye the title

Arsenal won 1-0 away at Fulham over the weekend with winger Leandro Trossard getting their winner at Craven Cottage. Mikel Arteta’s side are finding ways to grind out results at the moment and dug deep to get their three points against the Whites.

The Gunners are back in action on Tuesday night in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid at home. They are carrying momentum and will fancy their chances against anyone at the moment. The London outfit then lock horns with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Arsenal have perfect formula to win the Premier League title

Arsenal have fallen short in the race for top spot over recent years. They haven’t been able to get over the line amid competition from the likes of Liverpool and City. However, they will hope that this year is different and they are looking very strong at the moment.

The Gunners are extremely solid in defence and are a tough nut to crack. In fact, they have the best defensive record in the division at the moment. They have let in only three goals so far in this campaign and are really disciplined at the back.

William Saliba and Gabriel are near impossible to get past in the heart of their backline, whilst Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori are also bang in form at full-back. Cristhian Mosquera has also made a positive impression since his move from Valencia and can be trusted to perform if needed. Meanwhile, Ben White and Myles Lewis-Skelly also provide strong competition and depth in that department when called upon.

Arsenal can score goals in many different ways

Arsenal are finding different ways to win games which is a good sign for a team eyeing the trophy come the end of this term. They are able to break teams down and are always a threat from set-pieces. Only City, Liverpool and Chelsea have found the net more than them thus far. However, the Gunners ability to break through low blocks via set pieces is what could win them the title this time around.

The Gunners were shrewd on the recruitment front over the summer and have brought in some great characters. They bolstered their attacking department by landing striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon and although he hasn’t scored as many goals as he would have liked to, he should come good. In addition, the likes of Noni Madueke (when fit) and Eberechi Eze have injected some serious quality into their starting XI going forward.

Arsenal have benefitted from Liverpool’s recent slump. Arne Slot’s men have lost their last three league fixtures and were beaten 2-1 at home by Manchester United in their last outing. City appear to be getting better though so they need to ensure that they keep their momentum going over the coming weeks and months.

These are promising times to be associated with the Gunners and they will be in good spirits. Crystal Palace will be tough opponents at the weekend for them once they get their European tie against Atletico Madrid out the way. The Eagles have real threats like Jean Philippe-Mateta and they will be a tricky test.
