The New Orleans Saints are competing for the first overall pick in next year’s draft at this point. New Orleans is 1-6 after the first six games of the season, and doesn’t seem anywhere near close to turning things around.
Now, the Saints are getting some horrible injury news, which is going to make a mid-season turnaround even more unlikely.
“Sources:#SaintsRB Kendre Miller tore his ACL on Sunday and will miss the remainder of the season. A tough blow for Miller, who was starting to carve out a role in the offense with 193 rushing yards and 1 TD on the year,” reported Jordan Schultz on Twitter.
As brutal as the news is, it wasn’t the only season-ending injury the Saints had to stomach on Monday.
“Saints C Erik McCoy is believed to have suffered a torn biceps, an injury knocks him out for the season, per me and (Mike Garafolo). One of the NFL’s best, McCoy also played seven games last season because of an injury, as well,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Fans reacted to the losses on social media.
“Kendre is made out of paper mache. Bummer he is hurt again, was finally showing the skill we thought he had,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Man, the injuries keep piling up for the Saints,” someone else added.
“That’s heartbreaking Wishing Kendre Miller a strong recovery He was just finding his rhythm — can’t wait to see him come back even stronger next season,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see where New Orleans’ season goes from here.
