The Denver Broncos‘ offense waited until the fourth quarter to do something historic against the New York Giants.
For instance, their 33 fourth-quarter points were the most by any team that had been shut out to that point.
They also became the first team in 1,602 consecutive games to win after trailing by at least 18 points with six minutes left.
More than that, their quarterback fashioned a dual-threat performance for the ages.
“Bo Nix is the first player in NFL history to record 2+ passing TDs and 2+ rushing TDs in one quarter,” Benjamin Solak wrote on X.
Great stat from @EliasSports and ESPN Stats and Info:

The second-year QB finished with 27 completions on 50 attempts for 279 passing yards and two touchdowns.
He added five carries for 48 yards and two TDs on the ground.
Nix logged 218 total yards in the fourth quarter.
This was the best performance of his NFL career, and one of the greatest performances by any quarterback in the fourth quarter in the history of the league.
Granted, the Giants gave him a helping hand, as there’s simply no excuse to give up 33 points in one quarter, or to blow such a big lead.
Nix hasn’t gotten as much attention as he drew as a rookie, but he’s having a decent year.
Through the first seven games, he has 1,556 passing yards, 11 touchdown passes and four interceptions to go along with 38 carries for 172 yards and three rushing TDs.
