Raiders' Ashton Jeanty gets brutally honest about 'losing culture' in Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Raiders managed to hit a new low on Sunday after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs, 31-0.

But it gets even uglier than the score. The Raiders ran just 30 plays on offense and only mustered up three first downs. If we didn't know any better, we'd think the Raiders were still running Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell out there.

But, no, they have a $75 million quarterback in Geno Smith who has actually proven to be a downgrade from the lackluster pair of signal-callers the Raiders sported in 2025. The only upgrade has been the cap hit Las Vegas is taking.

After the game, Raiders rookie running back Ashton Jeanty, who was stifled to the tune of six carries for just 21 yards and one catch for 13 yards (he was tied for the second-most receiving yards on the team, by the way), was clearly frustrated.

He even went on to note how the Raiders have had a "losing culture around here for a long time," but remains determined to fix it.

"I don't work as hard as I do, and I don't think anybody else in this building does, to lose like that. So, if we're being honest, it's been a losing culture around here for a long time. But we have to continue to work to fix that and bring winning back here," Jeanty said, per Paul Gutierrez of Raiders.com.

Is what Jeanty said brutally honest? Sure, but it's also 100% true.

The Raiders haven't had a winning season since 2021, and that is the only winning season this franchise has had since all the way back in 2016. Even in their playoff berths in 2016 and 2021, the Raiders went one-and-done.

New head coach Pete Carroll was supposed to change that culture, but not only has he failed to do that, the culture looks as bad, if not worse than the one under former head coach Antonio Pierce.

Now consider the fact that Carroll supposedly has a better quarterback and it only makes his tenure in Vegas look worse.

It's fair to wonder if Carroll even deserves to keep his job beyond this season. We don't think he'll get fired, but there is definitely a case to be made.

Carroll has 10 more games to right the ship and make his case that he should stick around, but there doesn't appear to be any hope for any semblance of a turnaround in Las Vegas.
