Saints' Kellen Moore announces multiple season-ending injuries to offense

Through six weeks, first-year head coach Kellen Moore and the New Orleans Saints are trying to figure out how to put together wins.

The Saints fell to 1-6 after a 26-14 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 7, but there have still been some positives to take away from their rocky start. Quarterback Spencer Rattler has put together several encouraging performances, and New Orleans has remained within two possessions in five of its six losses.

The playoffs may be an unrealistic goal this season, but there have been things to be excited about for Saints fans. However, New Orleans will have to continue their season without two players on the offensive side of the ball.

Kellen Moore says C Eric McCoy and RB Kendre Miller are out for the season with injuries

Saints head coach Kellen Moore said that center Eric McCoy (torn bicep) and running back Kendre Miller (torn ACL) will be out for the remainder of the season after sustaining the injuries during their Week 7 loss to the Bears, according to Saints insider Luke Johnson.

McCoy, 28, has been a back-to-back Pro Bowler in the 2023 and 2024 seasons. The former second-round pick signed a large, five-year, $60 million extension with the Saints in 2022 and will have just two years remaining on his deal after this season.

Miller, 23, has posted career highs in carries (47), rushing yards (193), and yards per carry (4.1) before going down with his injury. It's safe to say that the Saints won't be looking to trade 30-year-old Alvin Kamara after losing their second running back for the season.
