Ruben Amorim can finally celebrate winning back-to-back Premier League matches with Manchester United but that wasn’t his only feat achieved against Liverpool.
Manchester United’s first consecutive league wins came either side of the international break, with the Premier League campaign resuming with a 2-1 win over Liverpool.
It was United’s first win at Anfield in nine years, and Bryan Mbeumo’s early goal broke a 30-year record as one of the fastest ever seen in the fixture.

Tactically, Amorim outclassed Arne Slot, leaving the Liverpool manager frustrated at United’s “long passing” after the full-time whistle.
It means that Amorim remains unbeaten against Liverpool as United boss, and he now boasts an impressive record in the Premier League.

Ruben Amorim boasts five-year Premier League record
Amorim faced the toughest start to the league of any manager, and with the Red Devils currently sitting ninth in the standings, it hasn’t been that bad of a start.
The win over Liverpool can hopefully be a launch pad for a strong run of form, and Amorim has now proven he can mix it with the best teams in the division.

Ever since his appointment, Amorim has stubbornly stuck to his tactics and continued to set United up in a 3-4-2-1 formation.
He is heavily criticised when it doesn’t work, with suggestions that he should change and adapt. It is only fair that when he wins he gets credit.
Amorim made bold selection decisions at Anfield but it worked, and the win over Liverpool is now his biggest and best at United.
