The NBA regular season is set to tip this Tuesday night; however, the Indiana Pacers received some troubling news just before the start of their season.
Ashton Hackman of WTHR in Indianapolis has reported that Pacers rookie Kam Jones was arrested on Tuesday after a “brief chase” on Interstate 65 in Indianapolis.

“Indiana State Police tell us a trooper tried to pull Jones over for alleged erratic driving on southbound I-65 near the North Split. Police say Jones did not pull over at first and led them on a brief chase that ended near the Fletcher Avenue exit near Fountain Square in Indianapolis,” Hackman wrote on his X account.

Hackman also revealed that the Pacers sent WTHR a statement on the situation.

“We are aware of the situation involving Kam Jones. We are in the process of gathering additional information and will not have any additional comment on the matter at this time.”

Jones was the 38th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. The Pacers rookie spent four seasons at the college level, playing for the Marquette Golden Eagles. Last season, Jones averaged a career high in points, with 19.8 points per game with the Golden Eagles.
