Nick Pope is determined to get back into the England squad amid a slew of top performances for Newcastle United this season.
The 33-year-old faced the media on Monday ahead of Newcastle United's meeting with Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Pope revealed to the media (via The Chronicle) that he's been in contact with England boss Thomas Tuchel.
The Newcastle stopper has been in fantastic form so far this season, and there's no reason, as things stand, why he shouldn't be considered for an England recall.

Nick Pope is still in contention for England
Nick Pope's England dream is still alive
As we'd hinted at earlier, Pope has always had England on his mind, especially with it being a World Cup year, but he knows what he needs to do.
"England is always in the back of my mind in a World Cup year. Newcastle comes first and without playing well for Newcastle there is no England.
"I spoke to him [Thomas Tuchel] soon after he took over the job and I have been in regular contact with Hilario. The communication has been really good and enjoyed the opportunity to speak to him. I am in the frame, it's something that is not dead. It is always best to let your football do the talking and keep the ball out of the net. Hopefully Dan Burn has put a good word in as well!
"I have been to two World Cups already so a third in America would be pretty special at my age."

Nick Pope is never going to displace Jordan Pickford but he could book himself a seat on the plane
Nick Pope has often been on the fringes of being the England goalkeeper, but never managed to make the shirt his own, with Jordan Pickford clinging to the shirt for years.
While Pickford is prone to a spot of madness, there's no denying that he's a top goalkeeper, as sickening as it is to admit.
We're sure that Pope would just be happy enough to be on the plane and part of the group next year and we've got everything crossed that he can play his way into Thomas Tuchel's plans, as that means he's been performing well for us.
