Saints’ C Erik McCoy, RB Kendre Miller both suffer season-ending injuries

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore confirmed that center Eric McCoy and running back Kendre Miller will both miss the remainder of the season due to injuries.

Moore said McCoy suffered a torn bicep and Miller tore his ACL. Both injuries were season-ending.

“Obviously, really unfortunate because both those guys have been playing some really good football,” Moore said. “They’ve been doing a lot of good things, and now it’s opportunities for other guys moving forward.”

Moore said McCoy’s leadership and consistency will be difficult to replace.

“He’s one of our most impactful leaders,” Moore said. “No matter what capacity he’s in, he’ll do everything he can to help. He’s been playing phenomenal football. He just doesn’t make mistakes.”

Moore noted that the team will need to finalize roster adjustments within 24 hours and expects players across the offensive line to elevate their communication and performance.

“When you have a guy like Eric, who’s been around this game for a really Moore said. “It can’t just be one person doing everything Eric did.”

Moore also praised Miller’s development and impact before the injury.

“I’m really proud of what Kendre turned this season into,” he said. “It’s unfortunate timing because even that run yesterday was a really good one. There will be challenging days for him, but he’ll be back and have more opportunities in the future.”

Moore said the Saints will now adjust their lineup and rely on players who have already rotated through multiple positions this season.

“I feel like they’ll be able to respond,” he said. “We’ll just have to juggle a few pieces.”
